Donation days are changing!

We're moving away from having a drop-off donation day every Saturday to an appointment system for donations and a once a month open donation day.

Monthly donation day

On the first Saturday of the month (between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.) we will have an open donation day for items on the list below. This will include baby clothes and clothing, shoes and coats up to age 12, as well as the baby and toddler equipment on the list below.

Donations by appointment

For donations at other times you can make appointments through our online appointment system Calendly (you can find the link on the home page under the picture of the baby bank shop). We hope that this will be more flexible for those who cannot come on a set time on the weekend and it will allow us to better control the flow of donations.

We'll ask you what you intend to bring so that we can tell you if they're things we can accept and what we need at that point. As you'll know we have a list of items that we can accept and a list of items that we never take, often for health and safety reasons or because they don't suit the needs of the families we work with. We also have a wishlist that we usually put up every week to let you know which items on the 'yes' list we are in need of that week.

Go to our 'donate pre-loved items' page to check our guidelines for donating. There you'll find information about safely donating items like buggies, information about donating clothes and a guide to what we can't accept.

Why are we changing?

We are so grateful for the amazing generosity of this community in donating things for other families; it is what makes this all possible. We do have small premises, however, and we are quickly overwhelmed with donations. This means that we prioritise what is needed by families and that changes from week to week; we may have a lot of new babies needing newborn bundles or we may have more families with older children.

We're often asked why we don't always take baby clothes; the reason is simply that we get far more than we can process and pass on to families. Babies grow so fast that there are always lots of good quality items available that have been quickly grown out of! So that's why once a month we will have a donation day when we will able to accept baby clothes.

We also get a lot of donations that we can't use and that takes us time and work to sort and dispose of them. So, through the appointment system we'll be better able to give you guidance about donations.

The list of items that are usually on our wishlist and that we will take by appointment during the month:
